Too Much Tim

Three years ago, Tim, 42, a father of two, slowly, almost without notice, started “self-medicating.” Like many of us, he wasn't some dysfunctional addict. Like many of us, he was trying to find a way to deal with getting derailed from living the life for which he was born to live.

His response to the mounting feelings of...

...boredom, dissatisfaction, frustration, stress and ever-present levels of fatigue had Tim:

  • SPENDING too much money

  • DRINKING too much or too frequently

  • Submitting to ANGER

  • Eating UNHEALTHY crap

  • Consuming CAFFEINE throughout the day

  • Taking PILLS to ease the ache of his withering body

  • Pipelining SOCIAL MEDIA at night while ignoring his kids

  • WORKING too much

  • And, yes, even WORKING OUT too much

Eventually, these coping strategies became who he was. He had not become the Tim he was born to be. His confidence began to fade right along with his dignity. “I used to be full of life. I had big plans. I had energy and could do things,” he told me.

It wasn’t long into our work together when...

...it became very obvious that Tim, like many of us, had slowly and nearly imperceptibly constructed an environment that had him caged. And like any PREDATOR living within an environment for which they were not bred to live, Tim was, to put it simply, going freaking crazy.

When Tim’s reckoning happened, it seemed like a flash, like an immediate awakening. But, in truth, it showed up after several months of work.

It happened on the day Tim was...

...completing the “What Must Not Be” part of the life mission map that we use to identify and build out the parts of our lives that impact our ability to live a good one.

“Holy shit, I’m in the wrong career! I'm in the wrong life.”

Tim, like many of us, had to make a pivot. The problem was, Tim, like many of us had kids, mortgages, and bills to pay.

So with surgical precision, we started...

...opening up the margins he needed to make the shift. After about a year of work, not only was he able to successfully and safely switch careers, but the margins we had opened up and used to do so remained. In other words, Tim had a new career, a new life, and, most importantly, the time, money, and energy to enjoy both.

Note: We never cured Tim’s propensity to drift into addiction. What we did was remove the dissatisfaction that was triggering his ineffective behaviors. He now had something better and more meaningful to do than sit around slow, drunk and angry.

It’s healthy, natural and even critical to our...

...very survival to consider what must be stopped, started or modified in our lives if we are to evolve at a pace greater than the change around us. As we approach 2021, I invite you to go beyond focusing on the habits you want to change and take it a step further and consider their causes. Get to the roots.

On Jan. 25, 2021, after the...

...dust has settled from the holidays and you're caught back up and ready to get after it, we’ll be opening the doors for the The 30 Day Take Your Life Back Challenge.

It’s been designed to sling-shot you into the strategies, structures and tactics you need to identify your true purpose on this planet and to do it in a way that gives you the time, money and energy you need to live it out.

Any questions?
